Nov. 9 (UPI) — A Russian soldier was arrested Monday and is accused of opening fireplace on fellow troopers on the Baltimore Army Airfield within the Voronezh area, killing three.
The soldier, recognized as Anton Makarov, was captured outdoors of the navy base Monday morning in reference to the capturing incident. A legal case has been opened for homicide and theft of a weapon.
“On account of the assault, three servicemen had been killed and one was hospitalized,” Russian authorities stated. “A legal case was opened underneath Articles 105 and 226 of the Legal Code of the Russian Federation.”
Authorities stated the suspect attacked officers who had arrived on the base to examine the on-duty shift. They stated the suspect took a gun from one of many officers and fled the scene.
Previous experiences recognized widespread hazing at Russian navy bases. A non-public in 2019 shot and killed eight fellow servicemen and wounded two different troopers at a navy unit in Siberia.
