HONOLULU (WR) — A particular agent with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives died final month after being unintentionally shot at a Hawaii police station.

In a joint assertion, the Maui Police Division and the ATF mentioned Particular Agent John Bost III died on July 28 after being wounded by a rifle that was unintentionally fired at a police workplace in Kihei, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Tuesday.

Bost had been assigned to Maui since 2015. He had been a particular agent with the ATF since 2005 and was a police officer in North Carolina earlier than that.

Native and federal officers will proceed to research the dying.
