Jan. 1 (UPI) — Maryland U.S. Congressman Jamie Raskin introduced that his son, Tommy Bloom Raskin, age 25, had died.

“We’re devastated and demolished to be with out him,” an announcement from Jamie Raskin and his spouse Sarah Bloom Raskin launched Thursday stated.

Tommy, who’s survived by sisters Hannah and Tabitha, was a second-year scholar at Harvard College Regulation College and had graduated from Amherst School, the household stated.

“Tommy was pure magic. His brilliance and compassion knew no bounds,” the household stated. “He passionately beloved his household, associates, and animals, and was dedicated to the reason for the worldwide poor,” the household stated.

Jamie Raskin, a Democrat first elected in 2016, represents Maryland’s eighth District, northwest of Baltimore.

“Like his mom and father, Tommy was devoted to creating our world a greater place by lifting up essentially the most weak amongst us,” stated Howard County Govt Calvin Ball in an announcement. “From engaged on Center East coverage on the Associates Committee on Nationwide Laws to the trials of Harvard Regulation faculty, this younger man was destined to do nice issues nationally and overseas.”

Ball continued: “Shedding a baby is an unthinkable tragedy and on behalf of the Howard County residents, our prayers are with the Raskin household as we want them energy over the times, weeks, and years forward to beat such a devastating loss.”

Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin wrote that he was “sharing love and prayers.”

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan on Twitter, together with First Girl Yumi Hogan, prolonged their deepest sympathies to the Raskin household.

No reason behind loss of life was given. The household stated funeral companies had been being deliberate.
