Votes To be Recounted

The laws prescribe a recount when the gap between candidates is only 0.5 percentage points.

More than three days after the midterm elections in the United States , the authorities in Florida recounts arranged the vote on the outstanding races. Above all, the votes in the election for the US Senate as well as for the governorship must be automatically counted again, as the authorities of the US state announced on Saturday.

The countings must therefore be completed on Thursday, 3:00 pm Eastern Time (9:00 pm CET). After that, there could still be countings by hand. State law requires recalculation if the gap between candidates is only 0.5 percentage point.
